Graduate named Newcastle's Young Engineer of the Year
University of Newcastle graduate Paul Reynolds has been named the 2007 Young Engineer of the Year by Engineers Australia's Newcastle division.
Paul, who completed a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Honours) at the University in 2003, is the Contracts Manager for RPC Technologies' Newcastle operation.
Paul first started with the company as part of the University of Newcastle Industry Scholarship Scheme. He now holds commercial responsibility for all transport projects won by the company, worth approximately $15 million annually.
Engineers Australia's Young Engineer of the Year award acknowledges and rewards young professional engineers who have reached a high level of achievement and involvement in engineering and community affairs.
26-year-old Paul said he was honoured to receive recognition from a leading industry body so early in his career. He will now compete for the nationwide title of Young Engineer of the Year, to be announced in November.
