The University of Newcastle Conservatorium will be holding an Open Day this Saturday 15 September 2007.

Open Day is a great opportunity for anyone with an interest in music to come along and enjoy the free concerts, workshops and demonstrations.

A special feature this year will be a recording session and a 'come and try' workshop on a virtual drum kit and virtual guitar.

There will be performances by the University of Newcastle Chamber Choir (winners of the ABC Choir of the Year), the Conservatorium Children's Choir, String Orchestra, a guitar demonstration, and the Little Big Band.

Workshops will include stringed instruments, percussion, brass and guitar, and improvisation and composition sessions.

The University of Newcastle Conservatorium Open Day will run from 10am to 3pm at the Conservatorium, Cnr Auckland St and Laman St, Newcastle.
