Workshop examines performance of infrastructure
The performance of Newcastle's key physical infrastructure during the extreme weather of the June long weekend will be the focus of a workshop at the University of Newcastle tomorrow.
Hosted by the university's Centre for Climate Impact Management, the workshop will bring together researchers and local industry representatives to discuss how the region's physical infrastructure coped during the storm and subsequent flooding.
Launched in April, the Centre for Climate Impact Management is undertaking pioneering research on the impact of climate on water availability. The Centre brings together researchers with expertise in hydrology, ecology, climatology and paleoclimatology.
Media is invited to attend the workshop which will be held on Tuesday 28 August from 2pm - 6pm in Lecture Theatre 416, University House, corner of King and Auckland Streets, Newcastle.
