International expert speaks on building communities

Professor Jody Kretzmann, an international expert in community-orientated policy, will present a public seminar at the University of Newcastle this week.

In his talk - Building communities: integrating the new with the old - Professor Kretzmann from the Institute for Policy Research at Northwestern University in the United States will examine the ways in which communities can be renewed socially, culturally and physically, without displacing all that exists already.

The talk, which will be of interest to community planners, academics and members of the general public, will be held on Thursday 12 July at 5.30pm at University House (Room 2-41), corner of King and Auckland Streets Newcastle.
