Federal Minister for Education, Science and Training, the Hon Julie Bishop, visited the University of Newcastle Central Coast campus on Tuesday 17 July, to inspect facilities and discuss future plans for the campus.

Hosted by Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Barney Glover, and Pro Vice-Chancellor and Director of the Central Coast campuses, Professor Stephen Crump, the Minister visited the Colgate Oral Health Clinic and was briefed on the Bachelor of Oral Health program, one of the newer degree programs offered by the University. The first graduates of the Bachelor of Oral Health program will complete their studies at the end of Semester Two.

The Minister was joined by the Federal Member for Dobell, Ken Ticehurst, for the tour, which included a look at the brand new Student Hub, opened last week.

Pro Vice-Chancellor, Professor Stephen Crump, said the Minister's visit was important for the University.

"Being able to show the Minister first-hand our campus, and discuss our future direction and plans for more facilities, was an excellent opportunity to showcase our strengths as a regional campus," Professor Crump said.
