Architect discusses the future of Newcastle city centre

An internationally recognised architect at the University of Newcastle will discuss the need for well-informed urban design decisions for Newcastle's city centre at a public forum this week.

An internationally recognised architect at the University of Newcastle will discuss the need for well-informed urban design decisions for Newcastle's city centre at a public forum this week.

Professor Steffen Lehmann, Chair of Architectural Design at the University, said the development of the city centre was one of the most important planning issues facing Newcastle.

Professor Lehmann will discuss how to maintain the city's character in his presentation Speculation into immediate futures: Newcastle City Centre.

Professor Lehmann will speak at the Architectural Future of Newcastle Forum presented by the NSW Architects Registration Board on Wednesday 30 May 2007 from 5pm - 7.30pm, Hunter Room, Newcastle City Council Chambers.
