Secrets of grey nomads uncovered

Monday 22 January 2007

More participants are needed for a University of Newcastle study exploring the experiences of people aged 55 and over who, in their retirement, have decided to travel Australia.

Professor Tina Koch, from the School of Nursing and Midwifery, said her initial research had found so-called grey nomads felt a sense of freedom by choosing to travel.

Many are fulfilling a dream to travel around Australia and feel a sense of independence out on the road, Professor Koch said.

Professor Koch will write a book which reflects and gives insight into the grey nomad experience and would like to speak to people who are aged 55 and over, are retired, and regularly travel around Australia.
