Healthy offers for medical degree program
The University of Newcastle's medical degree continues to be highly sought after with 200 offers made in this year's Main Round.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Kevin McConkey, said the University's medical program was recognised around the world for its innovative problem-based learning approach.
"Every year the University produces graduates that are in strong demand nationally and internationally. The medical degree program offers an integrated curriculum with early clinical exposure and substantial community involvement - giving students a unique and comprehensive study environment."
The University today confirmed it had offered Veronica Smith a place in the 2007 medical program. Ms Smith was recently the subject of media interest and was an applicant to the University of Newcastle's medical program. Ms Smith has accepted the offer.
"I am really delighted to accept the place in the medical program at the University of Newcastle," said Ms Smith. She is now looking forward to starting her studies.
