University of Newcastle Advisory Days

Monday 18 December 2006

Prospective students have their last-chance to seek face-to-face information about program options, careers and alternate pathways to the University of Newcastle at Advisory Days being held this week and again in January.

The Advisory Day at the Ourimbah campus - on 20 December - will coincide with the release of the 2006 UAI results.

University staff will be on hand, and current students will be available to talk about their experiences on campus.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Services), Dr Sue Gould said the Advisory Days were for all prospective students, but would be particularly useful for people who had received a higher or lower UAI than expected and needed to know their study options.

"People who thought they wouldn't get into a particular course at the University of Newcastle might now find they can. This is their chance to find out more about changing their preferences," Dr Gould said.

Dr Gould said that prospective students had until Thursday 4 January 2007 to change their preferences for inclusion in the Main Round of the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) offers which will be released at 9pm on Wednesday 17 January 2007.

The University will hold a second Advisory Day on Wednesday 3 January 2006.

Late applications for 2007 will be accepted by UAC until 1 February 2007.
