On-time applications for admission to the University of Newcastle in 2007 close this Friday 29 September.
The University will receive an additional 264 Commonwealth supported places in 2007, across the disciplines of health, science and education. The additional places are across the University's campuses at Callaghan, Ourimbah and Port Macquarie.
These places enable the University to offer for the first time in 2007, the Bachelor of Podiatry at Ourimbah as well as places in the Bachelor of Psychology and the Graduate Diploma in Education at Ourimbah. The University will also offer the Bachelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Arts at Port Macquarie for the first time.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Services), Dr Sue Gould, said the University was the first choice for students in the region.
"Our graduates have some of the highest starting salaries in Australia and 75 per cent of our bachelor-degree graduates get a full-time job within four months of completing their studies," she said.
"At Newcastle, we offer exciting degree programs that prepare students for the modern professional workforce. We strive to ensure that our degrees meet the demands of new technology and global innovation."
While the on-time application deadline is Friday 29 September, students can still submit applications through UAC until 1 February 2007, however these applications will attract a late fee.
