Have you ever thought you would like to go to University, but you're not sure what is required, if you could manage it, and even if you would be eligible?
Here is your chance! These and many more questions can be answered at the University of Newcastle's Information Day to be held in Port Macquarie this Saturday (26 August).
It will be held at the North Coast Institute of TAFE on the corner of the Oxley Highway and Widderson Street, Port Macquarie from 10am to 1pm.
Ms Kylie Little from the Port Macquarie campus, said "It's the ideal chance to speak to advisers, lecturers and students to find out what it's really like and to check out the growing list of degree programs available locally in Port Macquarie.
"It's a good time to get all of the information about University study as the closing date for applications through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) is 30 September.
"It's also a great opportunity for TAFE students to find out how their TAFE studies can enable progression to University degrees and what credit for their TAFE studies they may be eligible for."
Kylie said the range of programs offered by the University of Newcastle in Port Macquarie has been growing steadily.
"Due to extra places allocated to the University by the Australian Government, a combined Bachelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Arts (Primary) will commence in 2007. Twenty five places are available in this degree program.
"Residents in the region have embraced the opportunity to study in quality University programs in their local area. Demand has been very strong," she said.
Programs offered at the Port Macquarie campus from 2007 include:
Kylie said that everyone who attends the Information Day on Saturday can enjoy a free BBQ and have a chance to win an iPod.
