It's opening night at the theatre, the audience is ready, the curtain goes up… and George Spelvin doesn't know his lines. Not only that, he doesn't really know which play he is performing in. In fact, he's not really sure where he is. Worst of all, he's pretty sure he's an accountant.
University of Newcastle students from Conservatorium Drama will follow this helpless accountant improvise his way through a Noel Coward love triangle, famous Shakespearian monologue, an absurdist scene in a garbage can, and finally a beheading when they present Christopher Durang's timeless comedy 'The Actor’s Nightmare'.
Director Carl Young ('Much Ado About Nothing', 'Retribution') says this is a comedy for everyone.
"For anyone who has ever performed on a stage, but especially for anyone who has ever dreaded performing on a stage. We can all laugh at poor George because it's one of our nightmares too!" says Carl.
Featuring the talents of Ben Louttit as the nervous accountant, he is supported by University of Newcastle talents Michelle Pastor, Tim O'Donnell, Shelly Cameron, James Pyziakos and Neil Wood.
