A new book from the Family Action Centre at the University of Newcastle will provide practical advice for dads to build on their relationships with their sons.

The book, 7 days that matter - building your father-son relationship, has been written by Dubbo author Mark Barnes in time for Father's Day.

Deborah Hartman from the Family Action Centre says Mark's book is a simple and practical guide to addressing some of the big and not so big issues that affect the relationship between father and son.

"There's no simple, straightforward route to being a fine man for boys growing up in the 21st century," says Deborah. "Mark Barnes has produced a practical guide for fathers who want to help their sons stay on track."
