Emma Hamilton from Umina Beach is poised to hear whether she will receive an offer tonight to commence a University degree at the Ourimbah Campus.
Emma, 18, who completed her HSC last year at Brisbane Water Senior College, has applied to study for a Bachelor of Arts offered by The University of Newcastle at Ourimbah.
Emma says the Arts degree is her first preference and if offered a place, will jump at the chance.
"I am not sure at this stage what I want to do career wise, so Arts is a good jumping off point for me. I can explore the areas that interest me, try everything, and then make sure I have made the right decision. English and History have been my favourite subjects to date, and I am also interested in Psychology," Emma says.
With a UAI score of 94.9, the future looks bright for Emma.
"It's very exciting," Emma says. "I worked hard for the HSC and I am really hoping to receive an offer on my first preference for Ourimbah.
"I am very excited about the option of going to University, especially as I can continue living on the Coast and be within reasonable travelling distance to the campus.
"I can't wait to hear the news tonight," she says.
University offers will be made tonight at 9pm. Any remaining vacancies at the Ourimbah Campus will be advertised in the Central Coast Express tomorrow (Thursday 20th Jan).
An Information Session will be held at the Ourimbah campus tomorrow (Thursday, 20th January) for people requiring information about their University offers and also to assist with enquiries regarding second and late round offers and also full fee paying places. It will be held in the Campus Information & Service Centre at the Ourimbah Campus between 1pm and 6pm. Further enquiries can be made by telephoning 4348 4030.
