Recruitment events

The University of Newcastle organises and attends a number of recruitment events during the year that provide the opportunity for prospective students to speak one-on-one with University staff and students and to collect degree program information.

Events include:

Pathways with TAFE and local community partnerships: March

These information events target Years 10, 11 and 12 and aim to help students and parents understand the pathways into University and TAFE available to them. In 2008 Pathways events were held at Singleton, Cessnock, Maitland, Cardiff, Newcastle, Shoal Bay, Raymond Terrace, Gosford, and Wyong.

Regional markets

Student Recruitment promotes the University of Newcastle at key careers markets throughout the year and across the State. Faculties are welcome to send additional representatives and will need to cover the costs of any travel, accommodation or other expenses incurred by their staff.

Mid-year information sessions: May

Information evenings will be held at Newcastle, Central Coast and Port Macquarie campuses to provide prospective students interested in mid-year entry the opportunity to speak face-to-face with University staff.

Information days: August and September

On-campus Information Days will be held at Newcastle and Central Coast campuses and in Port Macquarie to provide prospective students and their parents with the opportunity to speak face-to-face with University staff, collect course information and tour our campuses.

Advisory days

Advisory days will be held on the Newcastle, Central Coast and Port Macquarie campuses early to mid January 2009 to help prospective students interested in changing their preferences after their UAI is known.
