Do you have a story?

If you are a University of Newcastle staff member, student or graduate and you have a story you think is newsworthy, the Media and Public Relations team would like to hear from you.

Maybe you have completed ground-breaking research, are about to launch a project that will make a difference in people's lives, or receive a national or international award.

If we agree that your story is newsworthy, it may be promoted via the following channels:

Media conference
The Media and Public relations team organises media conferences for television, radio and print media on campus for major breaking news / announcements of national significance.

Media release
A media release is used for major news and announcements from the University. All media releases must be on University letterhead and approved by the Media and Public Relations Manager.

NEW Leads weekly news bulletin
NEW Leads is a one-page news summary from the University that is distributed nationally to media outlets each Monday.

Verbal briefing to journalists
Newsworthy stories can be promoted to targeted media outlets by offering an exclusive verbal briefing. Written material is usually not provided.

University home page
The news section of the University's home page receives approximately 750,000 visits a month and is a good way to promote newsworthy information to media, staff, students and general community.
