Health Services

The Central Coast campus Health Service is available for all students and staff.

Registered Nurse on Campus

Our campus nurse, Barbara, is available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. While it may be possible to drop in, it is advisable to telephone us on (02) 4348 4060 first to make an appointment.

The Nurse can assist if you:

  • Are unsure if you need a doctor's appointment
  • Have injured yourself
  • Would like health related information and education
  • Need support with medical condition on campus
  • Would like referral to another health service
  • Have any health concerns you would like to discuss.

The Nurse is also available to provide vaccinations to staff and students.

Doctor on Campus

Doctor Kerry Horadam is available:

  • Tuesdays from 8.30am - 4.00pm
  • Wednesdays from 8.30am - 4.00pm
  • Fridays from 9.00am - 1.00pm

Appointments fill up quickly and bookings are essential.

Services

Services include any General Practitioner related concerns:

  • Treatment of illness or injury
  • Immunisation
  • Women's health issues: pap smear, emergency contraception, morning after pill
  • Medical certificates
  • Pathology testing
  • Referral to specialists and allied health professionals
  • Health related information and education
  • Hypnosis and Acupuncture.

Fees and Billing

We bulk bill, so if you have a Medicare card you will not be charged for an appointment with the doctor or nurse (unless requesting services outside the scope of Medicare).

International students need to bring along their insurance card to avoid a fee.

The nurse can vaccinate you without charge, however the vaccine itself may incur a cost. Please check with the nurse if payment is required.

What to bring to an appointment

  • Medicare or health insurance card
  • Health care concession card (see Centrelink for eligibility)
  • Any vaccination history.

Note: Please arrive 10 minutes early for your first appointment to complete the necessary paperwork.

All patient health information is strictly confidential. The Central Coast Campus Health Service's privacy policy is available on request. Please feel free to discuss any privacy concerns.
