Dr. Rama Venkatasawmy

Lecturer (Communications)

Dr Rama Venkatasawmy currently lectures in communication & media, and supervises Honours candidates in the Bachelor of Communication program at The University of Newcastle, Singapore. He has previously taught communication, media and film production at other universities in three different countries.

He has additionally worked as a copywriter in the advertising industry, as well as undertaken media production-related consultancies for many public and private organisations and institutions. His research work has been published in international journals and he has presented papers at various international conferences.

His book The Digitization of Cinematic Visual Effects: Hollywood's Coming of Age (2013, Lexington Books) has recently been released in the U.S.
