
Dr Hassan Ali
Lecturer (Electrical Engineering)
Hassan Ali received the B.Eng. degree with First Class First (Faculty Top) position in Electrical Engineering from the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET), Pakistan, in 1994. He received the PhD degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Melbourne (UniMelb), Australia, in 2003.
Dr. Hassan was the recipient of Overseas Postgraduate Research Scholarship (OPRS), Melbourne International Research Scholarship and UniMelb Postgraduate Studentships. He also received MUET Meritorious Academic Achievement Gold and a Silver Medals in 2001.
Hassan has taught a range of subjects in Signal Processing, Electronics, Digital Communications, and Computer Engineering at undergraduate* and postgraduate levels at the UniMelb* (Melbourne), Curtin University of Technology (Western Australia), and the University of Nottingham, UK (Malaysia Campus), before joining the University of Newcastle (UON), Australia (Singapore campus), in 2008. At UON Singapore, he also coordinates Final Year Projects.
He has strong publication record in signal processing for wireless multicarrier communication systems and has served as the reviewer for many international journals and conferences. His research interest lies in improving efficiency, developing efficient signal processing algorithms and pre-empting bottlenecks in wireless and mobile communication systems.
