Dr Doreen Kum
Senior Lecturer (Business), Singapore Campus
Doreen Kum has a PhD in Marketing and teaches a range of subjects in undergraduate and postgraduate levels: Consumer Behavior, Promotional Management, Services Marketing, Retail Management, Marketing Management and Principles of Marketing.
She has also taught various executive programs and customised management programs for top and middle-management and executive MBA students.
Before joining the University of Newcastle, Doreen taught at the NUS Business School, University of New South Wales Asia, Singapore Management University, and S P Jain Center of Management. In addition, Doreen has been a consultant for large multinationals like Diethelm Keller Healthcare, Advanced Medical Optics, and research houses like Research Plus.
Doreen's research interests are in consumer behavior, specifically in areas pertaining to consumer memory, time perception, and brand personality. She also researches in services marketing topics such as service guarantees and consumer cheating. Her work has been published in journals such as the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, The Journal of Services Marketing. as well as local practitioner journals such as Singapore Marketer. She has served as a reviewer for the International Journal of Service Industry Management.
