Callaghan

About the campus

Recognised for its imaginative adherence to ecological design principles and with a ground staff committed to environmental best practice, the Callaghan campus is a great place to study, relax and enjoy all that university life has to offer.

Our beautiful natural environment with a smattering of buildings have won awards for outstanding architecture. You'll always find something interesting to catch the eye walking around the various paths and bush trails that crisscross the campus.

Our ground staff not only look after the flora but they also ensure that the fauna that shares the bushland with us is treated with care and respect. That's why we make sure various habitats are protected and why you'll see kangaroo crossing signs!

We have a campus-wide, fibre optic information network that provides access to several online specialist and public domain information services.

We enjoy fantastic sporting facilities. The Forum sports complex houses a state of the art 50m indoor heated pool, a 18m climbing wall (the second highest in Australia), a fully equipped gymnasium, two martial arts/aerobics studios and two competition indoor courts for sports such as basketball and volleyball.

We offer a huge range of social and support services from career guidance and health care to banks and sporting clubs.

UoN Services limited is central to student life, organising important social and cultural events as well as regular lunchtime concerts and markets.

Callaghan is well serviced by both bus and train (there is a railway station adjacent to the campus) and it has excellent access to the freeway.
