Accommodation

Deciding where to live while studying is an important decision. The information provided on this website will help you to make the right choice.

Situated between Sydney and Newcastle, Ourimbah is part of the Central Coast region of New South Wales. The Central Coast is one of the fastest growing areas in NSW and has the amenities of a major city combined with beautiful scenery and a relaxed holiday atmosphere. Although the beaches are reasonably close to the campus by car, approximately 20-25 minutes, it takes longer by public transport. Ourimbah is 97 kms north of Sydney and 88 kms south of Newcastle.

There are a number of accommodation options available on the Central Coast. You may wish to apply for on-campus accommodation, stay in temporary accommodation, rent private accommodation or stay with a family.

On-Campus Accommodation

Blue Gum House was opened in 1998 and has four separate units in a two storey building. Two of the units have six bedrooms and two have seven bedrooms. It offers single room accommodation on a self catering basis.

Life in Blue Gum House

If you intend taking a place in the on campus accommodation it is important that you know about the type of accommodation you will occupy and the lifestyle you will be expected to fit into and respect. The most important aspect of living on campus is respecting others and being prepared to follow a few simple rules associated with on campus life. Where accommodation and lifestyle are concerned, a mismatch of expectations can result in disappointment and feelings of frustration.

On campus residential life offers an opportunity to meet and make many friends from a variety of different nationalities and cultures and to become part of an active academic community. If you feel this is not for you, you could consider living off campus instead, where you may have more choice over lifestyle and flatmates. Living on campus does not suit everyone and for some students off campus accommodation may be a better option. Click here to view our off campus accommodation website.
