Facilities Management

The Facilities Management Unit is committed to providing a professional, efficient service in a timely manner whilst ensuring the needs and requirements of the Central Coast Campus community and its customers are met.

Contractors and Visitors to the Campus

When a contractor arrives on Campus they must first go to the Facilities Management Unit, which is located on the Brush Road side of the Campus.The contractor must sign-in ie complete their details in the Contractors Sign-in Book at the Facilities Office and sign out once work has been completed.

If the contractor has not been on Campus before they must be inducted by one of the Facilities staff. Once the contractor has been inducted they will be given an induction number that they can use each time they are on site. Contractors must be inducted once a year.

Keys and Electronic Access Requests

If you require a key or swipe card please complete the Facilities Management Unit Request Form and return it to The Facilities Management Unit. Failure to do so could delay processing your request.

You will be contacted when your key is ready for collection from the Facilities Management Unit.

It is also imperative that The Facilities Management Unit is advised of any staff member/s that are leaving the employ of the University so that swipe card and access codes can be cancelled from the security system. All keys and cards must be returned to Facilities on the last day of service.

Landscape and Grounds

The Facilities Management Unit undertakes all new landscaping, maintains existing areas and grassed areas and undertakes regeneration work of the bushland areas within the Campus.

Receipt and Dispatch of Goods

Goods sent to the Campus from external suppliers are delivered to the Facilities Management Unit Store. Each delivery is receipted by the Stores Officer and recorded. The goods are then delivered to the appropriate department within approximately 24 hours. A signature is required to acknowledge receipt of the goods when they are delivered by the Stores Person.

Each department arranges their own Courier services. Once a pickup has been arranged the parcel or envelope should be taken to the Facilities Management Unit Mailroom for the Courier to collect.

Operations and Services

The Facilities Management Unit coordinates and administers all new construction works, minor works, alterations and additions to the Campus, including associated site works and service relocations and oversees the planning of new buildings on Campus.

Maintenance Requests

For all repairs, maintenance, building works and service requirements please complete the Maintenance Form online. For any work to be carried out on the PABX system, such as ordering new lines, phones and repairs, contact IT Services 4921 7000 or by emailing 17000@newcastle.edu.au.
