Central Coast Community Campus Forum

The role of the Central Coast Community Campus Forum (the Forum)is to engage 'whole of community' on the Central Coast in consultation about the future of tertiary education in the local community.

The aims of the Forum are to link our community to relevant government, business, industry, social and cultural networks; increase engagement with campus initiatives; break down tertiary barriers and build community loyalty and understanding.

The Chair of the Forum is appointed by the NSW Minister for Education and Training, Hon. Adrian Piccoli MP and membership is confirmed by the Vice Chancellor, University of Newcastle, Prof. Caroline McMillen; Institute Director, TAFE NSW - Hunter Institute, Mr Phil Cox.

Terms of Reference

The terms of reference of the Forum are to:

  • To provide and facilitate communication channels and direct links with the campus and its programs and activities to the Central Coast community. This will build and increase the campus profile and reputation as the campus of first choice for VET and university studies by people living in the region;
  • To provide an important source of information and discussion for the development of the campus and setting of future strategic directions. The outcome proposed is early involvement by local government and influential bodies to facilitate strategic alignment in regional education activities;
  • To raise the profile of the campus through advocacy for the campus partners in the broader community. The outcome being forum members able to talk to their networks with greater impact and influence through their increased connection and knowledge of the campus and its activities;
  • To provide opportunities to expand the campus network. The outcome is to increase opportunities for collaboration, partnership and sponsorship for the campus; and
  • To attract Central Coast community members to study at the campus through focussing on the needs of students in the region. With the objective of increasing the overall education participation rate and level of Central Coast residents.
