About the Board
The Central Coast Campuses are:
- The Central Coast campus of the University of Newcastle and TAFE NSW - Hunter Institute of Technology
- The Gosford Campus of TAFE NSW - Hunter Institute of Technology
- The Wyong Campus of TAFE NSW - Hunter Institute of Technology
Memorandum of Understanding
There is a Memorandum of Understanding signed by The University of Newcastle and the New South Wales Department of Education and Training that sets out the functions of the Central Coast Campuses Board.
The key objective of the Memorandum of Understanding is to improve educational opportunities and to maximise educational benefits for people of the region, and of NSW generally, through the parties acting jointly in the following areas:
- Joint educational planning that maximises pathways between schools, adult and community education, vocational education and training and higher education
- Developing and implementing a joint educational profile which extends the educational opportunities of the region.
Functions of the Board
The functions of the Board are to:
- Advise on the strategic directions of the Central Coast Campuses, within the policy parameters set by government
- Address the educational and skill needs of the Central Coast Region
- Monitor organisational performance, including financial performance
- Advise on educational developments and physical infrastructure requirements which will address the objectives in 2.0
- Advise on other matters referred by the parties.
