Postal Borrowers

Students living outside the Newcastle/ Lake Macquarie/ Central Coast/ Maitland/ Cessnock/ Port Stephens local government areas may request items to be sent  via post. Items can only be posted to an Australian address.

Postal Borrowers initial due date is extended to allow for postage time - any consequent renewal is the same as for any other student.

You can also become a member and borrow from other Universities' libraries.

Library material you are unable to borrow:

  • 1 week loans or Course Readings
  • Archives, Rare Books & Special Collections
  • Items missing from the shelves
  • BONUS+

Renewing Loans

Renew  loans online via MyLibrary or during opening hours on 4921 5850.

Returning Loans

Return items by mail in padded envelopes to the Auchmuty Library. Allow enough time for return by the date due as fines will apply on overdue items. A return postbag is supplied and funded by SSAF.

Students are responsible for any materials for which there are loan records in their name. This responsibility ends only when the loan record is officially cancelled.

  • All students are subject to fines for late return of Library material.
  • All loans are subject to recall and must be returned when requested. Failure to return recalled material may result in the loss of borrowing privileges.
  • Items on hold cannot be renewed.
  • BONUS+ material can usually be renewed once only, due to the demand of the item at its home institution. All Library users are subject to BONUS+ fines.
  • BONUS+ holds are counted on existing holds and the requests remain on a record until they are returned to the home location.
  • Borrowing privileges are suspended when more than $15.00 is owed.
  • Items borrowed from HNE Health libraries must be returned to HNE Health libraries and cannot be requested for pick up at university locations. The loan period is 4 weeks with 2 renewals for all students.
  • The Renwick Centre items can have holds placed on them to be transferred to the UON campus libraries. The fulfillment of the holds is at the Renwick Centre Librarian's discretion.
