If you are successful in your application to the Bachelor of Medicine (Joint Medical Program), your letter of offer will advise whether you have been accepted into the University of Newcastle or the University of New England. The universities run the Joint Medical Program as a partnership, and offer an identical program curriculum.
You have the opportunity to indicate your preferred enrolment location as part of your direct university application; however, there is no guarantee that you will be accepted to your preferred location. While we will try to facilitate your preference, the Joint Medical Program will decide your university allocation based on available places.
Changing your enrolment location
If you wish to change your preferred enrolment location following your assessment interview, you can request to do so up until 5 December 2016. Once you've received your offer, transfers between the universities will only be considered under compassionate circumstances that have arisen after the acceptance of admission and commencement of study at the initial medical school.
