All prospective candidates who wish to be considered for a Commonwealth Supported Place within the Bachelor of Medicine - JMP must have lodged all three applications outlined below to be eligible for consideration.
Direct University applications to the Bachelor of Medicine for 2015 have closed.
Candidates who are eligible to participate in the Multiple Skills Assessment have been contacted. If you have not heard from us, you have unfortunately missed out on a place in the JMP for next year. We encourage you to apply again the following year or to consider one of the many alternative degrees offered by the University of Newcastle or the University of New England
|Candidates must have lodged all THREE of the below applications to be eligible to be considered for entry to the Bachelor of Medicine - JMP.|
1. Register to sit Undergraduate Medicine and Health Sciences Admission Test (UMAT)
You must register online to sit the Undergraduate Medicine and Health Sciences Admission Test (UMAT). On-time registrations for UMAT 2014 will close at 5:00pm AEST on 6 June 2014. A standard fee of $210 applies. Further information concerning UMAT may be obtained at through the UMAT office. Note: All prospective students for entry in 2015 must sit UMAT in 2014.
2. Apply directly to the University of Newcastle/University of New England
The online BMed-JMP direct university applications for admission to the Bachelor of Medicine in 2015 will open on the 20th August 2014. Applications will close 30 September 2014.The closing date is strictly enforced and late applications WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED under any circumstances. Applicants are able to indicate their preferred enrolment location (University of Newcastle or University of New England) on their online application.
3. Lodge an Application through UAC
You must submit an online application through the Universities Admission Centre, ensuring that you include Bachelor of Medicine (UAC Code 780000 - CSP) at the University of Newcastle/University of New England among your preferences. The closing date for on-time applications is 30 September 2014. Upon payment of the appropriate late fee, late applications will be accepted by UAC. It is essential that you have lodged a UAC application and that Bachelor of Medicine at University of Newcastle/ University of New England is included as a preference by 28 November 2014. Any change of preference to add BMed-JMP to your preferences after this date will not be considered. Instructions on how to apply to UAC may be obtained from the UAC website.
