Whether you choose to live on or off campus you should start looking for accommodation as early as possible. The University of Newcastle has limited places on campus and demand is constantly very high. Accommodation Services at the University of Newcastle can help you find accommodation either on or off campus. The majority of UNE students enjoy living on campus in the residential college system. You can visit the Living at UNE website for more information.
All students are encouraged to attend Orientation which includes enrolment sessions, information on student services and university resources as well as lots of fun social activities. Orientation is held in February at both universities.
Having a scholarship can be a great opportunity. Both universities have a range of scholarships available for commencing and continuing students. Click here for Newcastle students and here for UNE students.
O-Camp (15-17 March, 2013)
O-Camp is a camp for first year students from both campuses to make friends, party, hang out at the beach and celebrate the start of their medical careers. It is run for the students, by the students and will be a highlight of your med degree. If you are successful in gaining a place in the JMP, the student medical society will contact you with all the O-Camp registration and payment information. Visit www.unms.org.au for details.
