Dean's Regional List

The Dean's Regional List is aimed at ensuring adequate regional representation within the Bachelor of Medicine - JMP at the University of Newcastle. The introduction of the Dean's Regional List is in recognition of the University of Newcastle's strong commitment and responsibility to regional areas.

Twenty percent of the Commonwealth Supported Places available at the University of Newcastle within the Bachelor of Medicine - JMP will be allocated to regional students. The Dean's Regional List does not apply to the University of New England entry cohort.

Prospective students do not have to "apply " for the Dean's Regional List - all students who are eligible for consideration for a Commonwealth Supported Place within the Bachelor of Medicine - JMP at the University of Newcastle and who reside in a designated regional location will be considered. Students who are eligible for inclusion in the Dean's Regional List may be contacted to provide additional documentation in support of their regional classification.

Note: candidates applying for admission under the Rural/Remote Admissions Scheme are not eligible to be included on the Dean's Regional List.
