Bonded Medical Places (BMP) Scheme

The Australian Government is making available over 600 additional publicly funded medical school places in 2010 under the BMP Scheme. BMP Scheme places are only open to Australian citizens or Australian permanent residents who are new medical students entering the first year of the medical course whether graduate or undergraduate. By accepting a BMP Scheme place, students agree to work in a district of workforce shortage of their choice for a period of time equal to the length of their medical degree. Districts of workforce shortage are located in outer metropolitan, rural and remote areas of Australia.
