Application Process

All prospective candidates who wish to be considered for a Commonwealth Supported Place within the Bachelor of Medicine - JMP are reminded that to be eligible for consideration they must lodge the following applications:

1. Register to sit UMAT

On-time registrations for UMAT2009 closed on 5 June 2009 (fees apply). Upon payment of an additional fee late registrations were accepted up until 19 June 2009. Registrations received after the late closing date were not processed. In 2009 UMAT was held on 29 July. Further information concerning UMAT (including the online registration) may be obtained at http://umat.acer.edu.au/.

AND

2. Apply directly to the University of Newcastle/University of New England

The closing date for the online JMP direct university applications for admission to the Bachelor of Medicine - JMP is  30 September 2009. The closing date is strictly enforced and late applications WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED under any circumstances. Applicants will be able to indicate their preferred enrolment location (University of Newcastle or University of New England) on their online application.

3. Lodge an Application through the Universities Admissions Centre (NSW & ACT) Pty Ltd (UAC)

You must lodge an application through UAC, ensuring that you include Bachelor of Medicine - JMP (UAC Code 780000 - CSP) among your preferences. The closing date for on-time applications is 30 September 2009. Upon payment of the appropriate late fee, late applications will be accepted by UAC. It is essential that you have lodged a UAC application and that Bachelor of Medicine - JMP is included as a preference by 30 November 2009. Any change of preference to add Bachelor of Medicine - JMP to your preferences after this date will not be considered. Instructions on how to apply to UAC may be obtained from the UAC website.

Candidates must lodge all THREE of the above applications to be eligible to be considered for entry to the Bachelor of Medicine - JMP.
