Visual Communication

Studying at the University of Newcastle has been a unique experience. Newcastle is a fantastic place to study; it is close to beaches and has a great nightlife.

The Visual Communication degree allows you to refine and develop design skills that are required to take into the design industry. Throughout the degree you work in fantastic bushland surroundings and work with helpful lecturers and tutors that understand the degree and will help with whatever problem that may arise. In third year you have an opportunity to work with clients and in turn your work could be chosen to be published or produced.

Designing is all about creating something that people can read, touch and see, to evoke a reaction from the viewer. Its about thinking outside your usual thinking patterns, breaking the boundaries to create a design that will be remembered for a lifetime. This degree allows you to be as creative as you want and teaches you how to embrace that creativity in order to produce good design.

By giving you a wide variety of electives to choose from, (so many in fact that you will want to do more than you're allowed) the degree is flexible enough to allow you to branch off into an area of design that is of to you.
