Choose Newcastle

‘Newcastle is located close to Sydney, and is a great nucleation point for travel, with great surfing beaches. When talking to past students I heard nothing but good things about the University and City of Newcastle.’

The Best Things

‘Studying at Newcastle has given me a completely different perspective, learning about other viewpoints and notions, especially true in my politics course. I have had the chance to take courses that simply aren’t available in the US. Aboriginal Studies was very interesting and the topics covered fitted in very well with my background in politics. All courses will transfer directly to my Degree back home but I found it was notably harder to get top marks here. My studies have really given me the chance to open my mind to ideas that I would normally not prescribe to.’

Newcastle Life

‘Newcastle is great! The beaches are perfect, great for an early morning surf. Newcastle City has a vibrant nightlife and when I have felt the need to pick up the pace of life Sydney is just a short trip away. This luxury of not having to live in such a busy city but to use it when you want is one of the best things about Newcastle.’

My Advice

‘Be prepared to take full advantage of your time in Newcastle, don’t sit at home and wait for things to happen, be proactive, there is a multitude of things to do. What you put in during your stay you will get back in excess!’
