' I chose Newcastle because of the reputation. I had heard about Newcastle from other students back home. I had heard about the friendly and spirited student body, the beautiful sights, the inviting campus - what more could a student want?'
' I have really enjoyed learning about the different cultures on campus. I find that all of my courses offer me the opportunity to meet people from all around the world, and to learn about the different teaching styles and technique other than what I learned at my home university.'
' The skills and course work I have studied at Newcastle will be applicable in many different ways in the class room. My future students will hear first tale accounts of a different place in the world and realise that there are many exciting things to see in the world!'
' I have enjoyed the friendliness and openness of the faculty and staff. I have also really enjoyed my on campus living experience and know I will have lifelong friends.'
' The personal support from living on campus is huge! There is always someone around to hang out with and so many people to meet. If I have any problem I know I can go to anyone in my block for help - and that's something I appreciate, knowing my family is half way around the world.'
' Be open to meeting new people. The culture is much more different than it is at home - so be aware of that! Look for small changes such grocery shopping, driving on the left side of the road, or having the opportunity to go to beaches year round as an exciting chance to experience a different culture. Don't be afraid to find new things - you may end up finding out things you never knew about yourself!'
