Choose Newcastle

‘For me the choice was a financial decision. The cost of the course here was less than other Study Abroad Destinations and the fact that the University is located out of a major city automatically meant that it had much lower living costs. Newcastle also looked very nice from the publications and images I could find on the web. The Bushland feel of the campus is something that reminds me of home.’

The Best Things

‘Each of my courses were held on separate days, which was very convenient, allowing me to structure my activities well over the course of the week. I found that the lecture sizes were bigger, but when held in conjunction with the small tutorials it meant that the lecturer got to know me and assisted with any problems that I had. The campus is big, laid back and friendly with a peaceful environment. My maths course was very different to anything I had studied back in America. The Algebra was very challenging and of a different format but as I will be teaching Maths back home this will be very beneficial for me and by broadening my perspective will help me to be a better teacher.’

Newcastle Life

‘A relaxed pace of life, this is how life should be!
Newcastle allowed me to choose my lifestyle. With the beaches, nightlife, multicultural influences, food, and the great location, Newcastle is a wonderful place!’

My Advice

‘Bring enough money for travelling around this exciting country. Make sure that your courses transfer back to your home University. Meet as many people, especially Australians, as you can. Generally, enjoy studying in Newcastle, It will be the best time of your life!
