'I went to the website, looked at Australia and the Australian states. Newcastle was a smaller place, and that suited me. Having come from Johannesburg, a smaller place appealed to me. Also Newcastle is a team that I support in the English Football League! '

The Best Things

'The mix of courses is good. They seem to match the business world and what I would expect in the business world. Newcastle University has an international flavour, because there is such a mix of international students. I’ve met different people from all over the world. I know so many people who I would not have known had I stayed in the South Africa.'

Future Study and Career

'I am doing a course channeled to what I want to do in the future. The course is Industrial Relations and Human Resources, and my major will prepare me specifically for that future.'

Newcastle Life

'Quiet and laid back. I like the country feel of it. I think it is really conducive to student studies, as there is not too much to distract you. The club scene in town is there, but it doesn’t distract students.'
