AFL (Australian Football League) Workshop
8.45am - 3.00pm | Callaghan Campus - free transport from Ourimbah Campus

Australian Rules Football, known as AFL or Aussie Rules is a unique Australian sport. Come along and learn a new set of skills, gameplay, rules, kicking and passing. This Free workshop includes instructions from professional players, skills practice and game play.

Wear comfortable sporting attire and shoes. The AFL workshop will be followed by free lunch.

Free transport will be provided for students from Ourimbah campus. Bus departing from Main Quad at 8:45

FRIDAY 13 FEBRUARY

Compulsory session for commencing international students
10.00am - 12.00pm | Room: EN211

Led by the Ourimbah International Student Advisor, this session will provide you with important UON support services, and information to ensure compliance with your student visa requirements.

Learning support session
12.30pm - 1.00pm | Room: EN211

The Learning and Development Centre will provide a session for international students on the  support services available and how to successfully navigate these. This is an essential session for all new students.

THURSDAY 19 FEBRUARY

Beach Safety Session
9.00am - 2.00pm | Terrigal Beach Surf Life Saving Club (meeting point Main Quad near the Bus Stop)

Before enjoying the amazing Australian beaches take advantage of this great opportunity to attend the Beach Safety Session which is a fun interactive way to learn how to stay safe and navigate the environment while enjoying the Australian beaches.

The 3 hour session will be run by professional Surf Life Savers on picturesqueTerrigal Beach. In the morning you will learn about beach safety. You will share lunch with members of the Surf Club who will share with you this unique piece of Australian life. After lunch there will be basic swimming, sand activities and for those who want to try there will be supervised surfboard and tube riding during the session.

Limited places available payment and registration is essential.
 
The event is open to all commencing students at all fitness levels. Please wear comfortable clothes, wear hat and sunscreen. Bring swimmers and towel.

Bus will depart Ourimbah Campus from the Main Quad.

Aussie Arvo by the Beach
Excursion to Surfest, Bar Beach | Newcastle

Departing 11.30am - Main Quad near Bus Stop

A fun relaxing way to end Orientation Week, come along for an afternoon in the sun and learn how to play Barefoot Bowls, and meet with some Professional Surfers.

Surfest Newcastle premier Professional Surf contest will be running a surfing contest on this day participants will have the opportunity to meet professional surfers and learn about how to stay safe while enjoying our awesome Newcastle beaches.

Free transport for Ourimbah Students departing from the Main Quad. Estimated travel time 1.5 hrs.

POST ORIENTATION ACTIVITY
FRIDAY 27 FEBRUARY

Nelson Bay Experience | Dolphin CruiseEnjoy a cruise out on the waters of picturesque Nelson Bay, dolphin spotting or cooling off on the boom net. There will be time after the cruise to explore Nelson Bay for some shopping or lunch.

Limited places available registration is essential. Free transport will be provided for students from Ourimbah campus (estimated travel time 2 hours).
