Orientation (known as “O-Week”) is your first week at UON before classes start. It includes information sessions that will give you practical information about living and studying at the university, as well as a range of social activities and off campus outings to help you get to know the area and make new friends with other international and domestic students.
For international students, you will receive information on attending the general university orientation activities that all new UON students attend. These include sessions and activities run by your faculty.
You will also be able to attend a range of international student orientation activities. These include compulsory information sessions that will help you understand everything you need to know about your enrolment, safety, and life in Newcastle or your campus region. We also hold a number of fun events for international students, such as day trips to the local beach where local surf lifeguards will teach you how to navigate the ocean and surf like a real Aussie! It’s another way UON makes sure your time at university is like no other international student experience.
