The Language Centre at the University of Newcastle (Callaghan campus) is an official IELTS test centre. IELTS, the International English Language Testing System, assesses the language ability of candidates who want to study or work where English is the language of communication.
The University of Newcastle offers IELTS preparation courses throughout the year for those wishing to undertake the test.
The University of Newcastle is also introducing an IELTS Masterclass to help with your test preparation.

There are two versions: Academic and General Training.
Academic is used for education and professional registration.
General Training is used for migration.
Both modules test listening, reading, writing and speaking. There are different reading and writing tests for the Academic (AC) and General Training (GT) modules. For more information about the test requirements and result reporting process, please visit our IELTS test day page.
