University Scholars Leadership Symposium 2014

The Innovative Research Universities (IRU) are offering two students a $1500 scholarship to represent the University of Newcastle at the University Scholars Leadership Symposium in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, from August 1 to 7, 2014.

The Symposium will see a culmination of 1,000 student leaders from around the world discuss issues pertaining to Social Change. The program will provide the next generation leaders an understanding of key sustainable development challenges, and motivate students to realise their potential as agents of change through motivational talks by renowned international trainers and inspiring lectures by experienced humanitarian leaders. The Symposium will also enable the students to participate in a hands-on service learning activity in a local community.

The successful candidates will join other IRU scholars from the seven universities and be inducted into the 'IRU scholars in Asia' alumni network.
