Welcome Home! We hope you had an amazing experience
Now that you have returned from overseas, there may be a few things you need to sort out such as your credit, completing your compulsory Student Testimonial, marking your overseas experience in your iLEAD Portfolio, joining the University of Newcastle Exchange Student Network (UNESN) or participating in the Student Exchange Peer Advisor Program.
Completing the Credit Process
After you have returned home, your overseas transcript may be sent to your home address or to the University of Newcastle's International Office.
Please check with your overseas university, when and how you will receive the transcript. If your overseas record is sent to the International Office, we will scan the record and email you for collection.
Note: Transcripts from overseas universities may not be sent if you have outstanding debts at the overseas location. If you do not receive your transcript in the advised time period, please contact the overseas institution directly.
To receive Credit, you must take a copy of the overseas record to your Program Officer located at one of the student HUBs. After your record is compared with your Credit Agreement, the Program Officer will post your credit. Overseas grades do not transfer onto your Newcastle student record. Credit will be recorded on your transcript as an ungraded pass providing you are successful in your overseas studies.
Provide a Testimonial
Now that you have returned home, tell us about your experience:
- Complete the online evaluation or submit a video testimonial
- If you have any interesting or exciting pictures of your time overseas, please send your photos to firstname.lastname@example.org
Note: Conditions for receiving a Travel Grant includes that you submit a testimonial based on your overseas experience.
The Student Exchange Peer Advisor Program
We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic volunteer Student Exchange Peer Advisors to work with the International Office. Participation in our program will give you the chance to help other students go abroad, meet exchange students from around the world and join in fun activities. This is a terrific way to boost your resume and gain valuable experience in international education.
University of Newcastle Exchange Student Network (UNESN)
The UNESN student club was created in 2013 with the aim of bringing together students who have previously been on a semester exchange. As a recently returned student you will be able to join UNESN to help promote exchange opportunities to others as well as meet other likeminded students through a range of different fun and social activities and events.
Like them on Facebook to find out about future events and your next chance to become a member of UNESN.
