Eligibility

Under both the Study Abroad and Exchange programs, you will study at the University of Newcastle for one or two semesters, while still enrolled at your home institution.

Please consider the differences when deciding which program to apply for.

Exchange program

To be eligible to apply for the Exchange program:

  • your home institution must have a current and formal exchange agreement with UoN
  • you must be nominated as an exchange student by your Home Institution's exchange coordinator

Study Abroad

To participate in Study Abroad:

  • your home institution will not have a formal exchange agreement with UoN or if it does, the exchange balance has been exceeded.

Entry Requirements

GPA requirements

Undergraduate admissions: Students are required to have a minimum GPA of 2.5/4 or equivalent.

Postgraduate Admissions: Students are required to have a completed bachelor degree and meet the entry requirements of the master degree for which their courses fall under.

Required Supporting Documents

You must provide original or certified copies of all application documents, unless these are sent directly from the International Office of a partner institution or an authorised education agent.

  • An official transcript of your student record
  • Evidence of English Proficiency as per policy
  • Exchange students must have a supporting cover letter from home institution confirming nomination. This must be sent from your International Office.
  • Copy of your passport
