Welcome
The Aspirations Longitudinal Study is a significant four-year research project that is the first of its kind to seek a comprehensive insight into the factors that shape the career and educational aspirations of students in the middle years of schooling.
The project has attracted more than $1 million in funding from the Australian Research Council and the NSW Department of Education (DEC). The research team, led by Professor Jenny Gore, will track children from state schools in three regions - the North Coast, Hunter/Central Coast and Northern Sydney - over the course of the study to investigate how their aspirations develop or change over time.
The information gathered by the researchers will assist the DEC and educators in developing programs to expand children's awareness of the range of opportunities available to them.
News in Brief - Last updated 6 May 2013
We're holding research induction workshops across the Far North Coast of NSW at schools which have recently joined the study. This year's research activities will soon commence in all participating schools across the state.
