Success stories
The NSW Police have been working with the University of Newcastle, Executive Programs since 2004, participating in Management Development Programs and the Graduate Certificate in Business Administration. Our staff have appreciated the opportunity to pursue further education supported by our organisation. We have found Executive Programs to be very flexible in catering to our needs. The quality of the facilitators is excellent and the knowledge gained has been extremely valuable and applicable to work within our organisation. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Executive Programs and the University.

I found Managing Organisational Change to be very beneficial for my role at Port Waratah Coal Services. The course was very relevant and I learned a lot in a safe environment and enjoyed trying new approaches. The facilitator was knowledgeable, practical and actively sought contributions from attendees to broaden the learning experience for all. I would highly recommend this course to others.

I found the negotiation skills highly beneficial. It allowed me to observe how people interact with others when entering negotiations and yet how differently the same people can behave in other settings…. The learning environment was proactive and the facilitator showed a high level of understanding, expertise and skill in providing appropriate feedback. This short course also allowed me insight into the University learning environment which I found encouraging. I believe this course has assisted me in both my professional and personal relationships. I recommend the Negotiation Skills course to any professional business person choosing to confirm the effectiveness of their current skills and to those with a desire to add to their skills base.

The Leadership and Management Development programs provided by Executive and Corporate Programs have been very valuable to our organisation. The content is practical and relevant, providing our staff with the information and tools they need to enhance their work performance… A key aspect of the programs is that the facilitators are experts in their fields with strong foundations in current research. They take the time to understand our business needs and ensure they are delivering quality content which meets our staff development needs.

The small class sizes and interactive participation by all attendees makes for a rewarding event. An abundance of real life situations and experiences enhances an understanding of the new found knowledge

I attended Leading and Managing People and found it to be very useful and practical. The facilitator was engaging and knowledgeable, he encouraged participation and provided a non-threatening environment. It was good to be surrounded by people in similar roles/situations and to learn from their experience. I was able to put into practice some of the things I learnt.
