WIL awards
WORK INTEGRATED LEARNING (WIL) STUDENT AND STAFF OF THE YEAR AWARDS 2013
Creating career-ready graduates is a focus of the University of Newcastle and the WIL Awards are awarded to students and staff who participate in, or help organise practical experience programs that has enhanced the learning experience of students.
Nominations are now open for the 4th Annual Work Integrated Learning Students and Staff Awards. These awards recognise outstanding performance by students and academic/professional staff who have achieved excellence in terms of WIL activity.
The closing date for all nominations is 5pm on Monday 30 September 2013.
The WIL Student and Staff of the Year Awards will be presented at a public awards ceremony scheduled for a 5.30pm start, Thursday 31 October 2013 at the University Art Gallery, with certificates being presented by the Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Caroline McMillen.
WIL STUDENT OF THE YEAR AWARDS
Has practical experience organised as part of your studies, improved your career readiness and learning experience at the University of Newcastle? If you have completed an internship, practicum, clinical or work placement, on or off campus, then you may be eligible to apply for the 2013 Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Awards, and win a share of a $6, 000 prize pool.
Domestic and international undergraduate students can apply for the awards with $1, 000 awarded to the chosen students from each of the University's five faculties. A $1, 000, university wide WIL Award will also be available for a post-graduate student.

WIL STAFF OF THE YEAR AWARDS
The WIL Staff of the Year Award aims to encourage, recognise and value the way our University integrates learning with workplace, leadership and community experiences and those who successfully provide those opportunities to our students. Staff involved in WIL at the University have a chance to win $1 000, awarded to the winning entry from each of the five faculties.

WIL STUDENT VIDEO COMPETITION
Lights, camera, action!
Are you a domestic or international undergraduate student, who has finished or is currently completing a workplace-based placement such as an internship, practicum, vacation work or field experience? It may have occurred within the workplace, community or within the University.
If so, then you may be eligible to enter the Work Integrated Learning Student Video Competition. The Student Video Competition requires you to create a short clip (between 1 and 2 minutes) that reflects on your work integrated learning activity to show the benefits of placement to your work and career-readiness. Get creative and you could share in a prize pool of $3,000!
