The sculpture shed is one of the best things about SOFA. This is the working environment where everyone can work together and have some fun at the same time. The students all receive help from one another and receive feedback from both our peers and professional artists. Our lecturer and technical
assistants are of the highest quality and inspire us as students to reach our full potential. Angela Poole-Wiley

curated by Laura Jardine
photography
This is an exhibition of photographic works that have been scratched on the surface of the paper or on the negative. By doing so the sacred nature of the photograph is ruined while the precious negative, as an article which traditionally should not be touched for fear of tainting the image with smearing fingerprints, is treated so with the opposite accord. photography
This is an exhibition featuring photographs of the interior of the now defunct Palais youth venue. The colour photographs in this exhibition have an emotive element to them in that the treatment of light and the shallow depth of field bring a softness to them. The images juxtapose small details of things together with large amounts of space, as I saw the most interesting parts of the ill-fated Palais to be.The title of this exhibition invites the viewer to consider the human element in the conception of a photograph by acknowledging the contemplative gaze of the photographer. painting
Touching is an intimate exploration of a surface that attracts, repels or stimulates our senses. By closely investigating the nature of the surface we can explore our conditioned or involuntary responses to it. Prue Sailer
