The Loading Dock, Long Room, Pit and Media Space
Entities aims to display elements and interpretations of the natural landscape, emphasising the connection between the organic and synthetic entities of our environment. The works focus on the natural and evolving world which affects the aesthetics and beauty within nature and the emotional desires and attachments which are replicated in every natural living life-force.
Tess Barker’s works, across printmaking, painting and drawing, explore the delicate balance between mankind’s influences on the natural world. Cheryl Farrell has developed a series of emotional landscapes based upon the patterns revealed from aerial views of a series of places - her place in the world, her experiences and who she is. The beauty in the everyday suffuses Alison Pateman’s prints which evidence her exploration of the aesthetics, texture and colours of the landscape. Taryn Raffan investigates evolutionary change and adaptation that the environment undergoes through contact with the human race. Her prints display part of the constant evolutionary cycle between man and nature while Tess Rendoth’s works are based upon her interest both in the natural world that also record how she can further enhance and utilise the printmaking medium itself. Simone Sheridan’s photographs take the viewer on a journey through our environment, both organic and synthetic, highlighting the effects of human ‘progress’ on our landscape. Michelle Stuart looks at nature as a means for predicting future and current weather changes in which lino, etching and woodcut printmaking techniques are used to capture the essence of plants such as dandelions as they become a natural weather forecaster. Entities reminds us that in a time of human dependence upon technology, it is nature that really holds the key.

The Locker Room
As Beverley Hills fights for who is the most James dean, the platinums bat and preen. You can almost taste the peroxide in the air. The King is not entirely impressed but Chris Isaak assures him that it isn’t such a ‘ bad, bad thing’. The punk in the corner has his obligatory scowl all the while
simply musing over ink.
Fate and popular culture has brought them together, only time can keep them apart.
