Dramatis Personae
ZOE TWEEDALE

‘Dramatis Personae’ (Latin: "persons or characters of the drama") is an appropriate title for my first solo exhibition, and it is indicative of my work as a whole, as my work has grown from a fascination with actual theatre.  My works feature characters, some with symbolic meaning, some not. The characters in my paintings make up a story, articulated through facial expressions, clothing and posture; enacting situations from drama to farce. These characters, these Dramatis Personae and theinteraction between them form the focus and narrative elements of my work.

Body of Work
ANTHONY HALLING and KASEY LEWIS

Body of work is an exhibition that discusses the complexity of the human form through the eyes of two different artists. The exhibition is collaborative attempting unity between the masculine and the feminine. Anthony’s works are very bold and refer to the style of street art. They represent the masculinity of the exhibition.
In contrast Kasey’s works are very particular and fine, often depicting the traditional feminine nude in a contemporary art context. Mixtures of different disciplines are adopted in the exhibition to show the variance and techniques between the two artists. The two different styles radiate off each other to create unity and equilibrium between the sexes

The Macquarie Show
Curated by DAVID HAMPTON, AMY HILL and REBECCA HOLMES

With ZOE TWEEDALE, MICHAEL KEITH RICHARDS, MAREE HENDRY, AMY HILL, DAVID HAMPTON and BREONY DELFORCE

2010 marks the 200th anniversary of Lieutenant Colonel Lachlan Macquarie becoming the fifth Governor of NSW. To celebrate this event, which is of both local and national significance, the 2010 Watt Space student Committee is curating an exhibition exploring his influence and legacy. Students were asked to submit a work or series of works relating to Macquarie, Australia during his time as governor, his legacy or all three, or any variation there on.  Supplementing these works will be an array of fascinating source material generously provided by the Coal River Working Party, giving an insight into Newcastle during the time Macquarie was governor and providing an historical context for the art works on display. Combining these historical and artistic insights it is hoped we will provide a unique and fascinating insight into a distant but significant chapter in Australia’s history.
