School Workshops

The Conservatorium hosts visits of secondary school students for a full day of Music Technology activities. Groups of up to thirty students can be comfortably accommodated in the Music Technology Laboratory at a time. Many schools regularly take up this opportunity with a number of them visiting two or three times each year.

Software Workshops

The University of Newcastle is an accredited training centre for Music Master and Finale software packages.

The Conservatorium holds workshops for training in these and other popular Music Technology software packages. These events are normally scheduled during NSW school holiday periods. They are held in the Music Technology Laboratory on level two of the Conservatorium building.

The Music Technology Laboratory currently contains sisxteen specialised Windows PC's and two Macintosh computers. The range of software packages available across these computers include:

• Music Master
• Band in a Box
• Cubase VST
• Logic Audio
• Astound
• Macromedia Fireworks
• Sound Forge
• Pro Tools
